The burly man steered his belly through the doorway and shuttled towards the lectern overlooking the crowd of journalists. He didn't bother with formalities. He wanted to get it over with. He didn't like them and they didn't like him.
"Over the last couple of hours, it's become clear that we are dealing with a sophisticated radical group of anarchists that are deeply embedded within our civil society and universities. We have reason to believe that working with a foreign element they endeavored to destabilize the government."
As soon as he was done with the statement he walked away leaving the journalists to mumble irritably. He pressed the button to call the elevator. When it came he stepped inside and pressed the eighth floor button. It reached its destination and he stepped out into the ICU.
"Hi, I'm Detective Nyathi with Special Investigations Department. I'm recording this conversation for investigative purposes. Do you know who you are?"
"I'm Ella Mpiyanga." Her response was faint and husky.
"Ella, our information differs from your version. Yesterday afternoon our officers came under fire. You and your accomplices even managed to deploy drones in the ensuing battle…"
